Fits lenses for eyes that need a medical reason to wear them.
Contact lenses
Contact lenses, fitted by a doctor
An exam, a fitting and a follow-up, in that order, with a lesson before you leave.
A fitting is done by a doctor of optometry. Some people wear lenses for a medical reason, such as an irregular surface of the eye, and a longer visit is set for them.
Your prescription is yours. We give you a copy of your contact lens prescription when the fitting is finished, and you can fill it anywhere.
What happens at the visits
- 01
Step 1: The exam
A contact lens exam is a full eye exam plus measurements of the front of the eye.
- 02
Step 2: The fitting
We choose a lens and a size, and you try it. Some eyes need a medical reason to wear one, and we say so.
- 03
Step 3: A lesson
You put the lens in and take it out in the office before you take anything home.
- 04
Step 4: Follow-up
A check after a week or two, and then a yearly exam.

Billing and what to bring
How it is billed
A contact lens exam and fitting is billed separately from a routine eye exam, and a vision plan may cover part of it. A visit for an eye problem is billed to medical insurance. We tell you what each part costs before you decide.

About contact lenses
Can I have my contact lens prescription?
Yes. We give you a copy when the fitting is finished. If a seller calls to verify it, we confirm it.
Can I sleep in my lenses?
Only if your doctor has said your lenses are made for it. Sleeping in lenses raises the chance of an eye infection.
